Transportation Systems .5 Credit
Grades 9-12 1 Trimester
Students in this course explore all types of transportation related projects with an emphasis on land, marine, air and space vehicles. They design, construct, analyze and test various models while becoming familiar with differing aspects of energy conversion, propulsion, control, and suspension systems. Aerodynamics is studied as it applies to the design of a student built model car. Course projects include CO 2 cars, hovercrafts, kites, hot air balloons, rockets, boats, mag lev vehicles, and more. Activities include practical applications of mathematical and scientific principles.
