Spring Sports Night/Parents Nights

The Department of Athletics will host its Spring Sports Night on Monday, April 5, 2010 at 6:00 pm in the Dining and Assembly Hall at Daniel Hand High School . All student-athletes and parents must attend. Following our presentation, a mandatory parent meeting with the coaching staff of each sport will be held in various locations throughout the building.

The topic for discussion will be student-based leadership and all its components. Steve Filippone, our Head Varsity Football Coach, will engage our student-athletes with experiences he will share from many conference, books, and seminars he has participated in. Some of those topics include: Communication: Leader Directed vs. Self Directed, Listening and Being Heard, Positive Thought Processing, Strategies for Developing Team Mission Statements, Goal Setting, Behavioral Expectations, etc.

Jean Baker, our Director of Guidance, will also talk about academic eligibility for student-athletes.

We look forward to seeing our athletes from all seasons, and our Spring Season parents at this event.
