Madison Athletic Program Advisory CouncilThe Madison Athletic Program Advisory Council (MAPAC) is made up of student-athletes, coaches and parents. The council was formed in May 2008. Its primary responsibility is to provide support to the student-athletes through the continued development of the athletic program. The council works with Mr. Semple and the Administration to bring new ideas forward, review new program proposals, provide recommendations and increase communication. Efforts are focused primarily on the high school, but, by extension, the high school athletic program impacts the middle schools and the Madison community. Student-athletes, coaches, and parents work together on numerous long and short term projects. These initiatives may be related to facilities, new club sports, special events, mentoring, booster clubs, communications, or sportsmanship activities. These projects will benefit today's student-athletes, and those to come in the years ahead. As student-athletes, coaches, and parents we have the responsibility to bring forward ideas which can potentially improve the program. Student-athletes are natural leaders on the field, in the gym, or on the track. The MAPAC group provides freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors the opportunity to prove to themselves - and to college admissions - that they have the ability to lead off the field as well as on. Please do not stand on the sidelines with your ideas, concerns and questions - step forward and get in the game! Please take the time to learn more about how you can contribute to MAPAC, and sign up to be part of our mailing list. If you are interested, please contact Jacqui Garner at 245-6366 in the Athletics Department, or email her at garnerjj@madison.k12.ct.us. Thank you. Meeting ScheduleGeneral
