Alliance of Parents, Teachers & Students
Working to increase communication between home and school: Planning programs to achieve positive changes in our school and the community
Dear Parents,
Welcome back! For those of you who are new to DHHS, the Alliance of Parents, Teachers and Students (APTS) is our version of the PTO. We differ in that we are not a fund-raising organization. Our budget is derived solely from membership dues, which support many different initiatives. Studies show the more connected parents can be to their teenagers’ lives, the less isolated the kids will feel and the more successful they will become. One of the best ways for you to be informed and involved in your students’ high school experience is through attendance at APTS meetings. We meet the first Tuesday of the month at 8:00 am. APTS meetings provide the opportunity for open forum: discussion and questions for our high school administrators as well as focus on a different curriculum area or topic of interest pertinent to families with teenagers.
Please support APTS by filling out the attached form and returning it with your $20.00 payment. Your dues support various events including the Blood Drives, Staff Appreciation Breakfast, Art Reception, Night-in-Hand, and special events programming.
