Message from the Principal
Dear Parents/Guardians:
As a community we have much to be proud of in the accomplishments
of your children, our students. They have demonstrated excellence
in academics, most notably by their motivation. They are gifted athletes
who exhibit not only athleticism but also leadership and sportsmanship.
They have excelled in the arts. Their concerts have rivaled those
I have seen performed by professionals. We also enjoyed these talents
in our spring musical Seussical. As well, the display of art that
has adorned our halls over the past few weeks even astounded our local
artists who juried the show. Our students have also enjoyed participating
in many other extracurricular activities such as the Math, Vex Robotics,
amd Debate teams, and Family and Consumer Science and Acts of Kindness
clubs to name a just a few. Maybe of most importance, our students
are selfless and tireless in their desire to help the global community.
I have watched them fund raise for Haiti, Uganda, Children’s
Hospital, American Cancer Society, Toys for Tots, etc. All in all,
we have had a wonderful year!
The warm
weather teases us about the joys and relaxation of the summer ahead.
Once again, I ask for your assistance in helping our students to finish
the year as motivated as they started it, and with integrity. I have
concerns about reckless and disruptive behavior such as cutting classes,
vandalism, and the use of alcohol and drugs. Please help me by reenforcing
the importance of making good choices and putting themselves in the
wonderful
position of waking up each day with much to look forward to!
In order
to re-enforce the importance of making good choices, two pre-prom
assemblies were held for the juniors. During the first assembly they
celebrated each other with a slide presentation. This was followed
the next day by an opportunity for each student to experience, through
a DUI simulator, the effects of alcohol consumption on driving. Seniors,
too, will have an opportunity to celebrate each other through a slide
presentation, the sharing of feelings from classmates, and a goodie
bag that will inspire them to be their very best. Students’
speaking to each other is extremely powerful!
Thank you all so much for sharing your wonderful children with us. The combination of your continued support and our talented and caring faculty produces an environment where your children can thrive. Have a fun filled and relaxing summer.
Best Regards,
Barbara
